[Culture] Tokyo Sky Tree Found In Painting Made in 1831

You know the Tokyo Sky Tree, the tallest tower in Japan and the second highest in the world today, is not it?

A building similar to the Tokyo Sky Tree is found in an old painting that was made in 1831 by Utagawa Kuniyoshi (1 January 1798 - 14 April 1861), one Japanese professor of painting.

On the left side of the painting, entitled "Toto Mitsumata no Zu" (Landscape In Mitsumata, Tokyo) there is a high-rise buildings, whereas in 1831 there are no buildings that high. And most important ...

"At that time, there are rules that forbid the people to build higher buildings of Edo Castle," said museum director Fumio Saito. "The tower in this painting is standing strong in the city of Edo (now Tokyo). It is surprising to see remarkable creativity of an artist antiquity. Looks like he predicts Tokyo Sky Tree construction in the area."
